Prime Minister, Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff inspect donated MRAPs

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, accompanied by the Defence Minister, Ante Kotromanović and the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Drago Lovrić on 2 May 2014 visited the Maintenance Depot of the Croatian Armed Forces

and inspected the maintenance works conducted on the 30 U.S.-donated MRAP vehicles. 
“Through the donation we have procured high-quality assets economising our resources greatly. This is the first part of the total contingent of over 200 vehicles”, said Prime Minister Milanović visiting the Depot.
General Lovrić clarified that 212 vehicles, offering the protection of crews from bullets, explosions and anti-tank mines, were assigned to the units of the Croatian Armed Forces. The arrangement with the U.S. partners also includes the MRAP operator and maintenance training, which will be administered by the end of the current year, said General Lovrić.
Alongside the 30 MRAP Maxxpro logistic vehicles presently serviced at the Depot, the U.S. has donated 162 M-ATV (combat terrain vehicles) and 20 MRAP HAGA (ambulance vehicles).
The MRAP vehicles weigh cca 18 tons, and their length is 6. 8 m, the width 2.7 m and the height 3.3 m respectively, and the average consumption totals 50 l/100 km. They are to be assigned to the units of the Croatian Army, the Support Command and the Special Operations Battalion of the Croatian Armed Forces respectively.
