“Croatian Pride 11/2” military exercises began

A two-week “Croatian Pride 11/2″military exercise, in which participate members of the 18th CAF contingent that will be deployed in early September in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, began at a military training area “Eugen Kvaternik” near Slunj.

The exercise was opened by the Army Commander Major General Dragutin Repinc.
Responsible for the exercise is the Guard Motorised Brigade of the Army (GMBR) and the director of the exercise is GMBR Commander Brigadier General Mladen Fuzul.

The main objective of the exercise is to evaluate the readiness of 18th HRVCON for participation in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. On the last days of exercise at various points in the training area, various situational exercises that will involve members of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence with the helicopter Mi-171Sh will be performed. Through this situational exercises and field observations CAF licensed evaluators will evaluate the readiness of the 18th contingent.
