“Euro-Atlantic Integration” International Conference

MOD State Secretary Pjer Simunovic has been attending the “Euro-Atlantic Integration” International Symposium held on 29 and 30 of March in Zagreb’s “Palace” Hotel. The symposium was organized by the Atlantic Council of Croatia, with participation of students and professors of political science, international relations and security studies from Croatia and countries from the region that wants to join NATO. The aim of the conference was to educate students regarding the Euro-Atlantic Integrations, with emphasis on the experience of the Republic of Croatia.

The conference was opened by the President of the Atlantic Council of Croatia Radovan Vukadinovic, followed by the address of the MOD State Secretary Simunovic. During a lecture entitled “The Croatian experience as a member of NATO,” Simunovic has pointed out advantages that the Republic of Croatia has from the membership and described the current process of Croatian integration into the Alliance.

The additional lectures will be held by Marko Horvat from MFAEI, by the Vice President of the Atlantic Council of Croatia Lidia Cehulic Vukadinovic, Barbora Maronkova from NATO Public Diplomacy Department, Nives Malenica (MFAEI), Peter D’Amico (United States Embassy to Croatia) and Zlatko Gareljic , Defence Advisor to the President. The final part of the conference is dedicated to the panel entitled “Southeast Europe and Euro-Atlantic Integrations”.
