“Three years of Croatia in NATO” Conference
Organized by the Atlantic Council Croatia in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of Defence and NATO Department for Public Diplomacy, a scientific conference “The three years of Croatia in NATO” was held today, April 3, at the Croatian Military Academy “Petar Zrinski” in Zagreb.
The conference was opened by Assistant Secretary General for NATO Public Diplomacy Kolinda Grabar Kitarović with the exposure “NATO on the eve of Chicago Summit” and then gathered participants were addressed by Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić and Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović.
Speaking about Croatian membership in NATO Minister Kotromanović said: “By NATO membership Croatia has strongly contributed to its national security and its common position in the international community. Republic of Croatia has confirmed as a member willing and able to contribute to common security”.
The conference aims to analyze the Croatian membership in NATO, experiences and achievements, reflect on the contribution to the development of the CAF, modernization, civil-military relations and the overall political clout that membership in NATO would have on the process of Croatia’s joining the European Union. Further expansion of NATO and the place that in this process have other countries of Southeast Europe is analyzed as well.
