“Udar-10” Exercise

The distinguished visitor’s day of the “Udar-10” exercise has been held day on the “Eugen Kvaternik” military training area  near Slunj on Friday, October 22. The DV Day was attended by the Deputy Army Commander Brigadier General Zvonko Peternel, Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Brigadier General Ivan Juric and other senior CAF military personnel.

“Udar-10” is an exercise in which participate Army units declared for the Force Goals from the Guard Motorized Brigade, Engineer Regiment, Training and Doctrine Command and NBC Battalion. The exercise has been conducted from 11 to 29 October and it involved more than 400 members of the Army. Practical implementation and tactics training, techniques and procedures of the Army declared forces has been carried out in order to prepare them for participation in joint and multinational environment.

During the exercise, evaluation of declared units according to the CREVAL program will be conducted. Evaluation by the CRECVAL has been carried out in five areas: preparations and plans, operations, logistics, CIS, and administrative area, and the evaluation process can take maximum 72 hours. The evaluation team led by Colonel Damir Babic will conduct the evaluation under the supervision of the NATO evaluation team.

Director of the exercise is Colonel Tihomir Kundid, Chief of Staff of the Guard motorized brigade. “Udar-10 exercise is extremely important for the Army since the evaluation of the declared Army units for Force Goals will take place during the exercise”, Brigadier Kundid said. According to him, we will get a realistic picture of the capabilities, skills and training of units for the implementation of tasks arising from the Force Goals.

“We can be fully satisfied with what we saw today”, Deputy Army Commander Brigadier General Zvonko Peternel said. “We’ve seen some of the Army’s capabilities, trained people, and equipment”. He stressed that the most important part of the exercise would be the evaluation carried out from October 25.
