RACVIAC Director visits Ministry of Defence

The Croatian Defence Minister Josip Buljević on 10 March 2016 received an inaugural visit from the Director of the Centre for Security Cooperation (RACVIAC), H.E. Ambassador Haydar Berk.

The two sides stressed  the importance of RACVIAC as a strong security policy platform in southeast Europe, as well as mutual satisfaction with the co-operation to date and the support from the Croatian Ministry of Defence for RACVIAC. 
Minister Buljević underlined the buliding a stable and safe neighbourhood as one of his priorities. The security problems faced by a number of European countries are to be addressed at their source and through a  close intergovernmental co-operation, and RACVIAC is one of the focal points of co-ordination and exchange of experience. The Minister announced intensification of the co-operation and full support to RACVIAC.
Ambassador Berk emphasised the importance of liaising with NATO and the EU in various domains. The major security challenges – terrorism, migrations, cyber security, the conflicts in the Middle East –  constitute the threats to be addressed through the co-operation and the activities of successful international organisations among whom RACVIAC. 
RACVIAC– the Centre for Security Co-operation is an academic, independent and non-profit international organisation owned by the member countries aimed on strengthening the security dialogue and co-operation among the countries of southeast Europe.
