Rear Admiral Robert Hranj took command of Croatian Navy

In the presence of the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić and other senior military officials, military-diplomatic corps, members of the Navy, the command handover ceremony between the former Navy Commander Rear Admiral (UH) Ante Urlić and the new Commander Rear Admiral (LH) Robert Hranj took place in Split today, 5 November 2012.

Taking over the command of the Croatian Navy, Rear Admiral Hranj said that the Navy was a good, professional and efficient organization that well maintain and rationally use the ships and equipment. He stressed that the greatest wealth of the Navy were trained men with high moral principles. Admiral Hranj expected that everybody would continue to do his or her work professionally and efficiently.

Rear Admiral Ante Urlić, which from the 1st November is on duty of the Deputy Chief of General Staff for Plans and Resources, thanked all members of the Navy, without whose support he could not do much in the development of the Croatian Navy. He also said that the he left the Navy in good condition, which has the extraordinary well-educated and qualified people to which he was especially proud.

“I have full confidence in the new Commander of the Croatian Navy”, General Lovrić said and wished Admiral Hranj every success on his new duty. General Lovrić also thanked Admiral Urlić who invested great effort in the development and reorganization of the Navy.

“Both officers have exceptional professional and wartime qualities and we can be proud that the Croatian Armed Forces and the Croatian Navy have these officers”, General Lovrić said.
