Self injury of CAF member in ISAF
A member of the 18th Croatian contingent in the ISAF mission, which has been assigned to NCO duty in the “Mike Spann Camp” in the north of Afghanistan, injured himself from a personal firearm (gun) on Wednesday, March 7, in the evening (23:15 local time, 19:45 Croatian time).
Another ISAF member, who is not from Croatian contingent, was also injured. Immediately after the event, both injured, one of which has injury of lower leg, and another of upper leg, have been medically taken care of, and transported to a hospital in “Marmal Camp” in northern Afghanistan and they are out of life danger.
The family of injured CAF member, who has been deployed to ISAF for the second time, has been informed on the incident, and the incident will be also further investigated.
These days members of the 18th Croatian contingent, to which belong the injured CAF member are at the end of their six-month deployment in Afghanistan and they have been transferring their duties to members of the 19th Croatian contingent which has been sent to ISAF several days ago.
