Seminar on mountain search and rescue

Seminar on mountain search and rescue, on which participate members of the 91st and 93rd Air Base, Special Operations Battalion, CAF Fire fighting Task Force, representatives of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and the State Directorate for Protection and Rescue, has been held in the “Knez Trpimir” Barracks in Divulje from 29 June to 1 July.

The seminar was organized by the International Defence Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defence and the U.S Bilateral Affairs Office-Croatia, with participation of members of the rescue squadron of the U.S. Air Force.
The leader of the Croatian team Captain Dalibor Ivelja presented the Croatian model of military pilots’ training, and the structure and activities of the squadron of transport helicopters of the 93rd Air Base. Captain Ivelja also presented the Croatian experience in search and rescue by presenting a few specific examples involving pilots from the Divulje Squadron with particular emphasis on the technique of piloting in the mountains, while American lecturers talked about organization and rescue techniques that they implemented.
On the seminar, experiences of Croatian and American pilots in search and rescue missions, conditions in the mountains that ask for top-readiness and competence of the crew and national departments involved in implementation of tasks of supporting the community were exchanged.
