Seventh generation of voluntary conscripts in Pozega

Seventh generation of voluntary conscripts have began voluntary military service in the barracks in Pozega, on Friday, 23 September 2011.

In the seventh generation 300 candidates, including 270 men and 30 women will undergo training. Upon arrival, conscripts signed a contract with the Defence Ministry, by which they regulate the mutual rights and obligations.

Voluntary military service lasts for 8 weeks and includes the implementation of basic and specialist infantry training in Pozega. During voluntary military service, volunteers receive monthly cash compensation in the amount of HRK 2660.00, reimbursement of travel expenses, basic and supplemental health insurance, insurance against work injuries and occupational diseases, as well as accommodation and meals.

Upon successful completion of the training program, according to the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces and in accordance with the results achieved in the training, selected conscripts may be offered the opportunity to sign the contract on training for active duty soldiers and the training for officers, by which they acquire the status of active military personnel.

Throughout the past six generations, 1486 of volunteer conscripts successfully finished the training program, of which 1314 men and 172 women. Ministry of Defence since 2008 signed an agreement on admission to active military service with 826 people who completed voluntary military service, of which 707 soldiers and 119 officers.
