Shooting competition of representatives of Military-Diplomatic Corps
6th competition in the shooting of the military representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Croatia has been held on the automatic shooting ground “Vrapcanski potok” in Zagreb on Wednesday, March17. Competitors used for the first time a D-VHS multi-role automatic rifle made in Croatia.
A presentation of VHS-C automatic rifle for the interested media representatives has been also held prior to the shooting competition by the “HS PRODUKT” from Karlovac and representatives of the Croatian Armed Forces, who spoke about their experience during the testing of the rifle.
VHS-D assault rifle of 5.56×45 mm NATO calibre is know for its bull-pup design – firing mechanism is located behind the handles which makes it more easily to use. Thanks to this construction, the barrel is of full length and has the higher bullet velocity, which allows greater efficiency and precision. The rifle is made of modern polymer plastics and high-quality steel, weighing 3.5 kg without magazine, with the possibility to set up additional accessories.
After the shooting competition in which the best results showed Danish Military Attaché Colonel Soeren Knudsen, a brief statement to reporters was given by the doyen of the Military-Diplomatic Corps Colonel Iosif Ovidiu Corneliu. Colonel Corneliu Iosif praised the design, quality and technical characteristics of the Croatian rifle, noting that entire product development was made by the Croatian constructors and manufacturers.
