Support Command Celebrates CAF and Army Day
The members of the Support Command marked the 22nd anniversary of establishment of the Croatian Army and the Armed Forces Day at the “Cpt. Josip Zidar” Barracks at Velika Buna on Monday 22 May 2013.
At the occasion, a delegation of the Support Command, headed by the Deputy Commander and the Chief of Staff, Brig. Gen. Nikola Škunca, laid a wreath at the memorial site of the 153rd Brigade of the Croatian Army at the Barracks.
Brig. Gen. Škunca presented the promoted and commended members with the respective certificates, and commemorated the early days of the Croatian Armed Forces and their growth through waging the defensive war into a respectable force which now controls and safeguards the internationally recognised borders of the Republic of Croatia. Brig. Gen. Škunca also highlighted that the Support Command, along with the overall Armed Forces, has through the completed NATO integration process and the prospective entry into the EU attained, fully developed and incorporated the operational capabilities required for the NATO and the EU environment.
