Support Command in preparation for ISAF visits mosque
Members of the Support Command, which will participate in the 21st HRVCON, as part of their preparations for the departure to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, visited today, November 30, Islamic Community in Zagreb.
Support Command Commander Major General Mate Ostović and his associates also joined the visit. At the beginning of the meeting, General Ostović, component commander Colonel Ivica Pejaković and host effendi Mirza Mešić paid a tribute to all the fallen members of the Islamic community who have given their lives in the Homeland War.
The event was continued in the classroom of the Islamic center. On this occasion, effendi Mešić expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the MOD in preparation of the CAF members for the international peacekeeping missions and operations, allowing the Islamic community in Croatia to be actively involved in public life for the benefit of all citizens of the Republic of Croatia. The lecture was mostly focused on the basics of the Islamic religion, language, culture and on the tribal traditions of people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the basic rules of behavior with the locals with whom members of the Support Command, within their regular duties, would collaborate and have daily contact with.
After the lecture, members of the 21st HRVCON visited the praying part of the mosque where they were presented with proper behavior in the praying area.
At the end of the lecture, Support Command Commander, General Ostović pointed out that after many years of cooperation with the Islamic Community; he personally came to thank effendi Mešić and the Islamic Community for the hospitality and helpful information to members of the 21st HRVCON that would much benefit them while performing everyday tasks within the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
