The “Anti-terrorism Operations” Seminar

A seminar titled “Anti-terrorism Operations by the Coast Guard”, within the bilateral co-operation programme with the United States, was held in the „Sveti Nikola“ Barracks in Split, Croatia from 25 February to 1 March 2013, co-organised by the Croatian Navy and the Croatian Coast Guard.

The U. S. Coast Guard delegation was headed by Maj. Scot Wilcox, the Bilateral Affairs Officer of the U. S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation and the Croatian delegation by the Coast Guard Deputy Commander, Navy Captain Milan Blažević. Among the attendees were also the members of the Croatian Navy Command, the Navy Flotilla, the Navy Training Centre and the Special Operations Battalion (BSD).

The seminar addressed the topics related to anti-terrorism operations conducted by the Coast guard, the naval operations exercised in the Republic of Croatia, anti-terrorist estimates, anti-terrorist measures implementation and the like. The attendees had the opportunity to visit the ships, the Barracks and the zone of responsibility of the Croatian Coast Guard, aboard of its Patrol Boat 03 “Cavtat”.
