Tribute to the fallen defenders in Operation “Maslenica“

Alongsde the parents of the fallen members of the 3rd Guards Brigade (“Kune“) and the Association of Veterans of the Brigade, the wreath at the memorial monument to the fallen members of the Brigade at Kašić was laid by the Envoy of the President of Republic Drago Horvat and the Minister of Labour and Pension Marko Pavić as Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, and Major General Mladen Fuzul as Envoy of the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, and the Head of the Zadar County Police Department  Anton Dražina.

The ceremony of paying tribute to the fallen members of the 3rd Brigade was attended by county prefects, mayors, Members of Parliament, heads of municipalities and delegations of the associations from the Homeland War. Jozo Marjanović, a member of the Brigade who took part in “Maslenica“ expressed appreciation of the Brigade to Zadar and the Zadar County for respecting its sacrifice in defence of Zadar and its surroundings.

The delegations paid tribute at the monument to the fallen members of the 4th Guards Brigade (“Pauci“) at Islam Latinski, at the monument to the fallen members of the Croatian Navy in Posedarje  and at the monument to the fallen members of Military Police at the Maslenica Bridge.

The programme concluded with the reunion of the participants of the Operation “Maslenica“ at the locality Podprag in Velebit Mountain and at Paljuv and Novigrad near Zadar, and a mass service for the fallen defenders.
