U.S. F-16 aircraft visit Pleso Air Base
The members of the 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota National Guard, flying two multi-role F-16 fighter aircraft landed in Croatia on 5 April, in a follow-up to the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević’s visit to the National Guard of Minnesota in May 2018 and at his invitation.
Upon entering the Croatian national airspace the two Fs-16were welcomed by the MiGs-21 of the Croatian Air Force and escorted to the Pleso Air Base.
This is a first visit of a U.S. F-16 aircraft to the 91st Air Force Base of the Croatian Air Force in the Barracks “Colonel Marko Živković” in Pleso,where they are staying until 8 April 2019. The visit is an activity within the bilateral defence co-operation between the Republic of Croatia and the United States and within the partnership between the Republic of Croatia and Minnesota.
From 5-7 April the members of the Croatian Air Force and of the 148th Fighter Wing conduc ted joint flight activities in the Croatian air space.
