U.S.S. Cole visits Croatian Navy

The destroyer of the U.S. 6th Fleet – the USS COLE (DDG 67) is mooring in Split for a two-day bilateral visit to the Croatian Navy.  The destroyer’s crew of 256 (26 officers, 230 NCOs and seamen) is commanded by Commander (N) David P. Wroe.

The destroyer is of the Arleigh-Burke Class (Flight I-Class),  with a length of 154 m, a beam of 20 m and a draught of 11 m. Razarač USS Cole jedan je od šezdeset i dva broda klase Arleigh-Burke (Flight I- Class).

It was built at the Ingalls Shipbuilding in 1996. Its home port is Norfolk, Virginia. In the terrorist attack in the port of Aden (Jemen) in 2000 it lost  17 members of the crew and suffered damage.
