Welcoming ceremony for 2nd HRVCON NATO EFP

The welcoming ceremony for the 2nd HRVCON to from NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in Poland was held in the Barracks “Bilogora” in Bjelovar on 15 November 2018. The Contingent was integrated to  the United States-led Battlegroup.

The ceremony was attendeed by the Commander of the Croatian Army, Major General Siniša Jurković as Envoy of the Defence Minister  and of the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, by the U.S. Defence Attache to Croatia Colonel Robert Mathers, the Defence Attache of Poland to Croatia Colonel Tomasz Góra, the Commander of the Guards Armoured Mechanised  Brigade Colonel Mijo Validžić and representatives of Bjelovar-Bilogora County and the local authorities.

“The 2nd HRVCON to NATO’s EFP has fullfilled all assigned tasks, that involved massive  effort by each member   The synergy of the unity and motivation contributed to high-level trainedness and preparedness for the mission. 

The U.S Defence Attaché Colonel Robert Mathers congratulated the 2nd HRVCON members on the successfully mission in Poland and underlined the strong alliance among NATO member nations as the key to the success of their mission. 

“Our ability to take training jointly anywhere, be it Afghanistan, Kosovo or in any NATO nation is a great indicator of unity among the member nations.  
The Defence  Attaché of Poland Colonel Tomasz Góra, agreed “This activity is an important symbol of solidarity among NATO member nations and of the respect of the Article 5 the of the North AtlanticTreaty”.
