14th CAF contingent returns from Afghanistan
Members of the 14th CAF contingent that were deployed since September last year in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, today, March 16, landed in the evening in the 91st Airbase in Velika Gorica. Besides family members, they were welcomed by high CAF delegation, led by the Chief of General Staff General Josip Lucic.
Upon arrival, Contingent Commander Colonel Berislav Sipicki reported to the Chief of General Staff General Lucic who was also the envoy of the President and Minister of Defence. Fourteenth Croatian contingent deployed in the ISAF Mission performed all its tasks” Colonel Sipicki reported.
In a short speech to members of the contingent, General Lucic expressed pride because of their honourable and professional performance of duty. For their participation in peacekeeping missions Croatian soldiers always get only positive critics from our partners and allies, the general said. Emphasizing participation in the ISAF as a valuable contribution to the development of military career, General Lucic encouraged soldiers to share the experience gained from the mission with colleagues who would participate in future CAF contingents.
