Fourth generation of voluntary conscripts

Fourth generation of voluntary conscripts begin with voluntary military service on 23 of April in Pozega Barracks. 250 candidates, among whom 220 males and 30 females, will undergo training. According to Regulations on voluntary military service (Official Gazette 70/08, 97/09) conscripts will sign a contract on Friday with the Ministry of Defence which governs the mutual rights and obligations.

Voluntary military service lasts for 8 weeks and includes the implementation of basic and specialist infantry training in Pozega.
During voluntary military service conscripts get monthly cash benefits in the amount of 2660.00 kuna, reimbursement of travel expenses for the arrival and departure on the service, basic and supplemental health insurance, insurance against work injuries and occupational diseases, and accommodation and meals.
Upon successful completion of the training program in accordance with the results achieved in the training, selected candidates will be offered to sign a contract for the training for active soldier, or on the training for officers, and by this acquire the status of active military personnel.
So far, three generations of voluntary military service successfully completed the 713 conscripts, of whom 627 men and 86 women.
