CAF sent to Baranja

Based on the today’s request of the National Protection and Rescue Directorate, Defence Minister Branko Vukelic issued on June 4, 2010, the decision on deploying one more CAF Task Force (TF) in the Baranja region in the vicinity of Beli Manastir.

TF that sent to the area of Baranja has 200 troops, a dozen transport trucks for evacuation of the population and material resources, and other necessary engineering and logistics resources.

The first TF was sent on Wednesday, June 2, in the Oriovac area, consisting of 200 members of the Croatian Army – soldiers, engineer platoon with the necessary machinery, equipment and boats, and signal squad, supply and medical squad, who have been still on the ground.
At this point more than 400 soldiers have been deployed in the areas threatened by floods and more than 1,000 members of the Croatian Armed Forces remain on standby.
