Defence ministers of Croatia and Serbia signed a Cooperation Agreement
As part of the two-day visit to Croatia, a delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, led by Minister Dragan Sutanovac, was received on Tuesday, June 18, by the Croatian Minister of Defence Branko Vukelic.
During the meeting, ministers Vukelic and Sutanovac signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the field of defence. The Republic of Croatia has signed similar agreements with all countries in the region, as well as with the most countries with which we have bilateral defence cooperation.
The Agreement defines joint cooperation in security policy and defence planning, military-scientific field, in the field of military education, in the military medicine, military police and in the peace support operations, nuclear-biological-chemical protection, and in the area of military-technical cooperation.
After signing the Agreement, in a statement to the media, the ministers stressed that the good cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and Serbia in the defence area was essential for security and stability in the region, and that it contributed to the overall normalization of relations between the two countries. Opportunities for cooperation related to participation in international peacekeeping missions, military education, and defence industries of both countries were particularly highlighted.
