Training of forward air controllers at Slunj

Beginning from June 28, the several day training of forward air controllers and close air support which, at the request of the CAF, was jointly conducted by the Croatian Army, Croatian Air Force and Air Defence and United States Air Force Europe ( USAF) has been carried out on the “Eugen Kvaternik” military training area.

The activity called “Tactical air control group” in which participate members of the Croatian Armed Forces, is developing additional CAF capabilities as well as strengthen strategic alliances with the United States within NATO. This week’s training is the continuation of previous training activities that were already conducted in April and May this year at the military training ground near Slunj, and as before involves locating and simulation attacks on ground targets.
During these activities, from 28 June to 2 July 2010, one might expect aircraft flights in the afternoon and evening over the military training ground near Slunj.
