Day of Aeronautical Technical Centre
Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Minister of Defence Branko Vukelic, Chief of CAF General Staff General Josip Lucic, and other senior civilian and military officials attended today, September 14, in Velika Gorica, on the marking of the day of Aeronautical Technical Centre (ZTC).
After touring the Centre and meeting with its activities, the ZTC CEO Zdravko Delic at a ceremony handed over international certificates for Canadair CL 415 aircraft to the ten mechanics, employees of the Centre.
ZTC was established as an independent company by the decision of the Government as a joint stock company owned by the Government with the primary purpose of providing service for the Ministry of Defence but also for the civilian market.
The Centre currently has 172 employees, and according to CEO Delic, it is expected that the Centre will expand its activities to the civilian market, and in the next semi-annual period to hire another 30 aeronautical engineers. “We have taken a clear and achievable vision for the business. Expanding the activities of the Centre to the maintenance of civil aircraft is the only real way to create new jobs. Our workers are ready and able to expand business in the region and beyond”, Delic said.
The intention is, as Delic noted, for Centre to become a regional centre for aircraft maintenance, and certain preparations have been already made. He thanked everyone who contributed to the successful separation of ZTC from the MOD system, as well as all employees of the Centre for which he said that they are the “power of the company and part of a team that will build a better Aeronautical Technical Centre”.
Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor thanked for the invitation, and when welcoming all employees said that the separation of ZTC from MOD system was successfully carried out thanks to successful joint work of all who participated in this process. “I think this is a good story that had a good start and a good and successful conclusion”, PM Kosor said. PM also congratulated the staff of the Centre who received certificates. “This is what empowers us in these difficult economic times. I think that not only that you work well but that you will do even better”, PM Kosor said. Prime Minister emphasized that the Government, within its capabilities, would provide assistance in an effort to become a regional centre. PM also said that it is a respectable company with capital of 280 million kuna, which brought attention and deep respect. When addressing the staff of the Centre, Prime Minister Kosor pointed out that they are the key link credited for another successful fire-fighting season. “You are the one that ensure safe flight and those who rescue people and property”, PM Kosor concluded.
