Military pilots flying selection started
A selection flying of military pilots on the ZLIN 242L aircraft started today, 7 October 2010, in the 93rd Air Force Base in “Zemunik” Barracks.
The candidates-officers members of the CAF who met the medical criteria, and students from partner countries can approach selection flaying based on the model of education.
Among the six candidates, five come from the Croatian Armed Forces, and the sixth officer Drazen Matijevic is a member of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina that will according to the bilateral agreement with the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina pass the training for military pilot in 93rd Air Force Base. This is the second foreign military pilot who has been educated in the Republic of Croatia. In July this year training for military pilots successfully completed Lt. In this way, active military personnel from the Croatian Armed Forces – first and second lieutenants that have completed undergraduate or graduate technical studies up to 25 years old with necessary knowledge of English can apply for education. After completing flight training selection students continue the education according to the current flight training program for students-pilots, and after successful completion of training military pilots will be assigned to units of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence.
In this way, besides the existing model of education through the “Kadet” program, additional conditions for the possibility of forming a regional centre for training pilots in the “Zemunik” Barracks have been created.
