U.S. Navy 6th Fleet Commander visits Croatian Navy

As part of the U.S. 6th Fleet flagship “USS Mount Whitney” visit to the Croatian Navy, Commander of the 6th Fleet and Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, Vice Admiral Harry Harris, visited on Thursday, December 2, Croatian Navy Command, where he met the Deputy Commander of the Croatian Navy, Rear Admiral (LH) Tihomir Erceg.

During the talks, it was concluded that they would continue with joint efforts to combat international terrorism, piracy and illegal trade to the benefit of regional prosperity, security, stability and peace, and the cooperation between the two navies.
Rear Admiral Erceg said that this visit was the continuation of very successful co-operation with 6th Fleet and recalled on the previous cooperation implemented through joint exercises and training at sea and in ports, courses, training events, etc.

Admiral Hariss visited Croatia 24 years ago as a crew member of the USS Saratoga aircraft carrier, which back then visited Dubrovnik.
The U.S. flagship “USS Mount Whitney” will stay in North port of Split till December 5.
