Successful defence cooperation between Croatia and Albania
Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic received on Friday, 25 February 2011, in the official visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Croatia Pellumb Qazimi.
During the meeting so far successful bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional cooperation within the A-5 initiative has been confirmed. Congratulating Minister Bozinovic on his new duty, Ambassador Qazimi thanked for all the contribution in the strengthening of cooperation between Croatia and Albania, the two newest members of NATO. Minister Bozinovic and Ambassador Qazimi also discussed intensifying cooperation with regard to further involvement in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan where the willingness of involvement of Albanian instructors in the Military Police Academy in Kabul was highlighted.They also discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the defence industry, where the Albanian side highlighted the interest for presentation of products of the Croatian military industry in Albania, and also for Albanian experts to visit Croatian companies – producers of military equipment and weaponry. “Since the project of new uniforms for members of the Albanian Armed Forces is currently under preparation, we are interested in sharing experiences in this area, but in other areas of equipping as well”, Ambassador Qazimi said. Minister Bozinovic stressed that we are interested in cooperation in this regard and expressed the hope on the participation of Albanian side, and the arrival of the Albanian Defence Minister at the forthcoming exhibition and conference of military equipment and arms producers in Split at the end of March.
At the end of the meeting, they expressed satisfaction with the organization of a joint photo exhibition, which will be set in mid-March at the MOD “Zvonimir” Gallery, on the occasion of second anniversary of the full membership of Croatia and Albania in NATO.
