Minister Bozinovic visits 93rd Air Force Base

The Commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Vlado Bagaric met Minister Bozinovic with the plans and their implementation in the current year, pointing out the participation of the Air Force and Air Defence in international operations, as well as its role in assisting civilian population in the country through participation in fire fighting activities, medical flights, and search and rescue activities.
Commander of the 93^rd AF Base and “Zemunik” barracks Colonel Miroslav Kovac gave a presentation on the activities of the barracks and 93^rd Air Force Base, while Commander of the Pilot School Colonel Zeljko Jurkovic talked about the models of training of military pilots and flight instructor, stressing that the Air Force had the capacity and resources for training of pilots from other countries.
Minister Bozinovic visited the pilot school of the “Rudolf Peresin” Training Centre and Aircraft and Helicopter Squadrons, where he was presented with assets for training of military pilots. When visiting the Fire-fighting squadron, the Minister was introduced with the readiness of the Air Force and Air Defence for the fire-fighting from the air. Minister Bozinovic also met pilots of the “Wings of Storm” air-show group.
In his address, Minister Bozinovic stressed the importance of the pilot vocation and the need to promote it, especially among young people. He also said that the 93^rd AF Base had good potential to develop into a regional aviation centre and must strive toward achieving this goal.
Besides Minister Bozinovic, “Zemunik” barracks were also visited by the MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg, deputy chiefs of General Staff, Lieutenant General Slavko Baric and Rear Admiral Zdenko Simicic and Chief of Logistics of GS, Major General Josip Stojkovic.
