“Croatia and Albania from the air” exhibition opened
In the presence of a large number of guests on Wednesday, March 9, Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic opened an exhibition of photographs of Nenad Rebersak and Alket Islami entitled “Croatia and Albania from the air”, in the Zvonimir Gallery of the MOD.
The exhibition of the Croatian and Albanian authors was organized to mark the second anniversary of joining of the two friendly countries to NATO. This exhibition was organized by the Defence Ministry and the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Croatia, and has been held under the auspices of the Prime Minister Mrs Jadranka Kosor.
When opening the exhibition Minister Bozinovic recalled the enormous energy and knowledge that Albania and Croatia have invested in achieving the strategic political goal – NATO membership. This exhibition has been a reminder of this important historical moment, but also a good stimulus to Albanian – Croatian relations.
By thanking everyone who helped in achieving of this project, Minister Bozinovic said that he hoped that soon the reasons for exhibitions would be also linked to full membership in the European Union, and that Croatia would continue to encourage and assist his Albanian friends in realizing their Euro-Atlantic integration, as yesterday on joint efforts to join NATO, the same tomorrow on the way to the European Union. Minister Bozinovic thanked the co-organizer, the Albanian Embassy in Zagreb and Ambassador Pellumb Quazimi, and the Prime Minister Kosor, and of course, the authors Nenad Rebersak and Alket Islami, who have made enormous artistic effort to provide us with an unusual look at the beauty of the two friendly countries .
Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Croatia, Pellumb Quazimi, expressed his satisfaction that the exhibition of the two artists, organized to mark the second anniversary of full membership in NATO, was held in Zagreb, and thanked the Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Minister Bozinovic and all others who have supported the project.
Alket Islami said that the opening of the exhibition was a very emotional event for him, and the view from the air that was caught on the photographs revealed the same geographical images and many similarities between Croatia and Albania. When welcoming all the gathered, Nenad Rebersak said: “To be free as a bird that is what Alket and I live when we take photographs from the air. We decided to share this feeling with you”.
