Minister Bozinovic visits RACVIAC
Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic visited on Tuesday, March 22, the Centre for Security Cooperation (RACVIAC) in Rakitje on the occasion of the official opening of the restored conference room which has been refurbished and equipped with the donation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, an associate RACVIAC member. The opening of the refurbished conference room has been attended by Minister Bozinovic, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Croatia Stella Ronner-Grubacic and by the RACVIAC Director Ambassador Nikola Todorchevski.
In his opening address, Director of the Centre for Security Cooperation Nikola Todorchevski thanked for assistance and donation of the Kingdom of Netherlands, adding that the Centre now got a new, improved capacity for work and learning of teachers and students of RACVIAC member states. He also pointed out the role and importance of this organization in establishing a dialogue on security cooperation of countries in the region, as well as the fact that RACVIAC was the unique international organization which mission was to continuously contribute to the stability and security in the region. “We have had great support of Croatia, as a host, as well as other non-member RACVIAC countries, and we hope that this will continue”, Todorchevski said.
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Croatia Stella Ronner-Grubacic in her address said that the Netherlands had a long collaboration with RACVIAC, because of all the activities carried out by the Centre with the aim to contribute to regional stability and initiatives that support it, and that RACVIAC was exactly the good example of the regionally organized institution. “With this donation and with the refurbishing of the conference room, we would like to show in a symbolic way that we support your efforts in further activities that promote regional dialogue and cooperation”, Ambassador Ronner-Grubacic said.
Thanking for the donation of the Kingdom of Netherlands as well as on the given support and financial assistance to RACVIAC since its foundation, Minister Bozinovic stressed that the newly refurbished conference hall certainly would contribute to the comfortable and quality environment for all RACVIAC activities. Minister Bozinovic stressed the importance and role of RACVIAC in building trust, cooperation and stability in South-eastern Europe, adding that further development of multilateral cooperation in the region was a major prerequisite for full integration into NATO and the European Union. “RACVIAC now covers a broad area of security cooperation, which involves continuous change and adaptation to new security challenges and to the overall international development in the area of security, all in order to help more countries not only in this part of Europe but beyond. That is why we believe that the RACVIAC is the important tool and that we should use it as much as possible”, Minister Bozinovic said.
