Cisco Expo Conference opened
MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg attended today, March 30, the opening of the tenth Cisco Expo conference on modern networking and communications technologies held in Split, in Le Meridien Lav Hotel.
The opening of the conference was attended by the President of the Republic of Croatia and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Ivo Josipovic.
Topic of this conference is collaboration and virtualization with no limits, and within the conference, which runs until April 1, there will be about fifty lectures and a series of practical workshops and live demonstrations.
The conference will present a variety of Cisco technologies to business customers, service providers and government bodies. It is about technologies that enable rapid and effective exchange of ideas and thus directly creating of new opportunities in business. Cisco’s innovations make it possible to quickly adopt new ways of business, and exactly such new technologies increase productivity and reduce costs.
MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg in his speech referred to the cooperation between MOD and Cisco Croatia and in particular talked about the needs of the defence sector for specific services and products of this company and about perspectives of future development. He stressed the important role that new technological solutions have for numerous tasks in the defence system, as well as in international missions and noted that the defence system needed professional and competent staff with Cisco competencies. “Ministry of Defence as part of the state administration has a need for integration and continuous monitoring of ITT services”, Raboteg concluded.
President Ivo Josipovic upon the opening of the conference said that the IT industry was the foundation of our development and particularly noted that Internet absolutely democratized society and that the President now has been available via the Internet to each and every day.
