Minister of Defence Davor Bozinovic opened an exhibition of photographs “British and Croatian allied forces in the service of peace” in Herzer Palace in Varazdin, on 7 April 2011. The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Croatia David Blunt, representatives of the city of Varazdin and Varazdin County and numerous other guests.

The exhibition was organized jointly by the Croatian Defence Ministry and the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and with the support of the City of Varazdin and Varazdin County, and the exhibition includes thirty photographs taken in international peacekeeping operations and missions in which participate members of the Croatian and British armed forces. The selected photographs were previously presented in Split (September 2009), and Zagreb (January 2010). Looking at these photos, we are witnessing these claims”, Bozinovic said and added “This exhibition demonstrates the strength and firmness of the British-Croatian alliance, genuine cooperation and friendship. It’s an alliance that began during World War II, continued and reported many times in modern Croatian history in defence and establishing of the new Croatian state, and the power of this alliance came to the fore in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan”.
