Ministers Bozinovic and Store on cooperation between Croatia and Norway
Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic met today, Wednesday, 20 April 2011, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Norway Jonas Gahr Store as part of his working visit to Croatia.
Ministers Bozinovic and Store discussed bilateral cooperation between the Croatia and Norway, with special emphasis on defence cooperation between the two countries, Croatian and Norwegian involvement in peace missions, and on the cooperation within NATO. They also discussed implementation of the strategic concept of NATO, which was adopted in Lisbon last year.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway expressed particular appreciation for Croatia, which in a short period from receiving the peacekeepers on its territory became a provider of the security forces in the world.
He also pointed out that Croatia in this sense for Norway was a success story, but the Kingdom of Norway is interested in further stabilization of the situation in Southeast Europe.
Defence Minister Bozinovic emphasized the significant involvement of members of the Croatian Armed Forces in international peace missions – as in the ISAF mission, as well as in other UN and EU peacekeeping missions.
The Minister particularly highlighted efforts of the Croatian Armed Forces on training and mentoring activities in Afghanistan, as well as a leading Croatia’s role in the establishment of military police school in Afghanistan.
The ministers expressed their confidence that the good cooperation between the two countries will continue in the coming period in various projects, including the area of defence and security.
