Minister Bozinovic opened exhibition of photographs “Two decades of CAF 1991-2011”
On occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Croatian Armed Forces, the exhibition “Two decades of CAF 1991-2011” was opened on Friday, 27 May 2011. The opening of the exhibition was attended by Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovric, many guests and the authors of exhibited photos.
When opening the exhibition, Minister Bozinovic welcomed everyone on behalf of the President and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces, and stressed that this exhibition was dedicated to all veterans and members of the victorious armed forces, who have sacrificed for the freedom of their homeland. “Let this exhibition remind us that nobody gave nothing Croatia for free, and in difficult and glorious days which we remember, the days of Croatian determination and unity in the Homeland War, the special courage demonstrated by our veterans for whom there was no hopeless situation nor lost battles. This exhibition is a gift to our veterans, known and unknown”, Defence Minister said at the opening.
The photo exhibition “Two decades of CAF 1991-2011” represents the work of forty authors, who on hundred exhibited photos, tell stories about the beginnings of formation of the Croatian Armed Forces, its growing, actions in wartime, but in later, peacetime, its participation in peacekeeping missions, etc. Exhibited photographs were selected by the jury of professional photographers from more than 700 submitted works from prominent authors like late Niksa Antonini, Marin Topic, Robert Belosevic, Josip Bistrovic, Zeljko Gasparovic, Toni Hnojcik, Zdenko Pusic and others, and photographs from the collections of the Museum of the Ministry of Interior and from Defence Ministry archives.
