Over the weekend CAF helicopters transported six patients
Over the weekend, from 11 to 13 June 2011, CAF MI-8 MTV helicopters transported six patients to Clinical Hospital in Split.
On Saturday, one patient from the Old Town of Hvar, and on Sunday four patients, of whom two from Korcula, a young man from Dubrovnik, and the German tourist from the Old Town of Hvar were transported with emergency medical flight. The sixth patient was transported this morning, 13 June, from island of Hvar.
Emergency medical flights have been conducted at the request of the competent institutions through 112 Centre of the National Protection and Rescue Directorate, and the time since receiving the call till take off in normal meteo conditions is 10 to 15 minutes.
The largest number of medical flight has been conducted from the middle Dalmatian islands (Hvar, Korcula, Vis, Solta, Brac and Rab), especially during the summer tourist season.
