Rollover of ANA helicopter

During the implementation of the regular tasks in the international ISAF operation in Afghanistan, today, Wednesday, 15 June 2011, at 09.05 hours Croatian time, there was a rollover of ANA helicopter (Afghan National Army) in which were two members of the 17th Croatian contingent (HRVCON) – members of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence (HRZ i PZO).

Both members of the Armed Forces (an NCO and officer) with two other passengers in the helicopter were immediately examined in a U.S. military hospital at the base in eastern Afghanistan. NCO had minor leg injuries (scratches on the knee), while the officer had no identified injuries. Both of our members were dismissed from the hospital, and during the day will be transferred to a home base in Kabul where they will continue with the implementation of regular tasks.

The overturning of the ANA helicopter, which was operated by a pilot-member of the ISAF from NATO member state, happened during landing at the ISAF base in eastern Afghanistan between Kabul and Jalalabad, with five ISAF members, three members of the ANA and translator.
