Kotromanović and Serbian Ambassador Vukičević on defence cooperation

Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović, received today, on Friday, 10 February 2012, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Croatia Stanimir Vukičević, who was accompanied by Defence Attaché of the Republic of Serbia to Croatia Colonel Zoran Bogdanović.

On this occasion, Minister Kotromanović noted that Croatia and Serbia, as the two neighbouring countries have to develop good neighbourly relations, and consequently also the defence cooperation. Good basis for development of that cooperation was the signing of an Agreement on defence cooperation between the two countries in 2010.

Ambassador Vukičević congratulated Minister Kotromanović on the new duty and stressed that Croatia as a member of NATO and Serbia as a member of NATO Partnership for Peace have room for even better defence cooperation. The ambassador also mentioned that he hoped this year’s 19 different bilateral activities planned in the field of defence between the two countries would be well implemented.

Minister Kotromanović and Ambassador Vukičević have also talked about engagement and experience of the Croatian Armed Forces in peacekeeping missions and operations, the situation in the region and the forthcoming meeting of the SEECP, which is to be held in April 2012 in Serbia.
