CAF helicopter in Montenegro over the weekend transported 86 people and 1.5 tons of cargo

A helicopter of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, which on Friday, February 17, was sent to help in providing humanitarian assistance to Montenegro, has made 41 flights during the weekend, transporting 86 people and 1.5 tons of cargo, totalling 10 h 15 min flight hours.

Helicopter transported people and humanitarian aid and medicine in Nikšić and Kolašin area, in settlements that due to large snowfalls remained completely cut off.

At the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, the decision on the provision of humanitarian assistance was adopted by the Croatian Government, with the consent of the Croatian President, upon which a helicopter of the Croatian Air Force Mi-8 MTV-1 with eight members of the Armed Forces was sent to the neighbouring country. Besides Croatia, other NATO member countries have been also involved in humanitarian assistance. Thus, in Montenegro helicopters were sent by the Slovenian Armed Forces, Greek Armed Forces, and humanitarian aid was sent by the United States.
