All members of 18th HRVCON returned to Croatia
The second half of the 18th Croatian contingent deployed in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan, led by Commander Col. Marijo Sambolec, returned today, on Tuesday, 20 March 2012 in the morning, in the barracks “Pleso”, which ended the rotation between the 18th and 19th Croatian contingent.
CAF members of the 18th Continget were welcomed on behalf of the Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff by Brigadier General Vlado Šindler, Air Force and Air Defence Commander Brigadier General Dražen Šćuri and other military officials
“When you were leaving six months ago we were proud of you and your decision to participate in the ISAF operation. Equally if not more so today we are, at your return, proud of you for all the tasks done expertly and professionally. I believe that you will use this experience in your professional career, and I invite you to share your experience with your colleagues at work. I want to emphasize that we particularly thank you and your families and friends who have supported you in the decision to participate in this operation and by your commitment to contribute to peace in Afghanistan and to help the Afghan people”, Brigadier General Vlado Šindler said when addressing the aligned members of 18th HRVCON who this morning arrived in Croatia.
Commander of the 18th HRVCON Colonel Marijo Sambolec thanked for the support CAF have provided to the contingent members during their deployment in Afghanistan, and particularly thanked all members for their efforts and commitment over the past 200 days in the ISAF operation, concluding that they were worthy representing the Republic of Croatia. Colonel Sambolec also thanked the members of the Armed Forces of the United States, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania, who with their work within the Croatian contingent further strengthen our efforts to provide more and better help to the Afghan security forces.
