CAF members and armored vehicles left for thee EU Battle Groups exercise in Germany
In the early morning of April 26, 57 members of the Croatian Army (HKoV) and five Patria AMV 8×8 armored combat vehicles and a technical workshop, were sent to Germany from Petrinja to the European Union Battle Groups international military exercise (EUBG).
Transportation of members of the Croatian Armed Forces and armored vehicles was organized by the Support Command (ZzP), in accordance with applicable regulations relating to road transport. The international military exercise will be held from 28 April to 8 May in the combat training center of the German Armed Forces in Letzlingen. Members of the Armed Forces for the first time will use these armored vehicles outside the Croatian borders, and participation in the international exercise is important for certification of participation in the EU multinational battle group led by Federal Republic of Germany.
CAF members who will participate in the exercise are mostly members of the first mechanized battalion “Tigers” of the Guards Motorized Brigade, equipped with five armored combat vehicles under the command of Lieutenant Krešimir Kršinić. It is the staff officers of the CAF Mechanized Company Command, which will operate within the EUBG German Maneuver Battalions, and members of one maneuver platoon. Besides them, in Germany were sent logistics specialists from “Tigers” and their colleagues from Support Command. Yesterday’s final preparations for the 1000 kilometers long transportation was attended by the Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mladen Fuzul, who said that all necessary preparation for the participation on the exercise were carried out, and he expressed the belief that members of the Armed Forces would successfully fulfill all the tasks during the exercise.
