CAF female soldiers in ISAF active in promotion of Afghan women
A course for members of teams who will be engaged to improve the participation of women in the military and civilian segments of Afghan society (Female Engagement Team-FET), was completed these days, by handing over the certificates, in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The course was also attended by CAF 19th HRVCON members First Lieutenant Tatjana Šolaja and Corporal Snježana Kramarić, where First Lieutenant Tatjana Šolaja was the best among course thirty participants.
The female soldiers in ISAF who completed this course will be involved in training of Afghan females and in assisting in their participation in military and civilian sectors of society. The course is organized by the ISAF Joint Command. At the closing ceremony, attendees were addressed by Nancy Pelosi, head of the delegation of U.S. Congresswoman and President of the Democratic minority in Congress, who thanked them for the effort invested in building a safer and better future for Afghanistan, and in particular for efforts for the full recognition of women in society.
It is part of the systematic efforts of ISAF in developing programs to engage women (Female Engagement) in all spheres of Afghan society, which has been strongly supported by the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić.
Lieutenant Tatjana Šolaja will be responsible for implementing this program within the Regional Command “Capital” and will lead the first such team in this part of Afghanistan.
