The decision to send the aircraft was made today by the Croatian Government in a telephone session, at the request of the Ministry of Civil Defence of the Hellenic Republic. The decision on the provision of humanitarian aid was made with the prior consent of the Croatian President Josipović.
Large fires broke out yesterday in several parts of Greece. The first was recorded in Keratea, a town 50 kilometers away from Athens, where several houses were burned down. Reportedly, fires in Keratea were accidentally caused by welders working near the forest.
