Navy officer embarked Belgian warship in Atalanta Operation
Officer of the Croatian Navy, Lieutenant Junior Grade Davor Alujević, embarked the Belgian warship, the frigate “Marie Louise”, as part of the international military operation of the European Union in the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters – “EU NAVFOR Somalia – ATALANTA”.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Alujević embarked the ship at the Zeebrugge naval base, Belgium, where it sails towards the Gulf of Aden to participate in the fight against piracy and the protection of food delivery by sea (World Food Programme – WFP).
Lieutenant Junior Grade Alujević was born on 30 January 1978 in Split. He is a member of the Armed Forces since 2005. He graduated from the Faculty of Maritime Studies and completed Basic officer school at the Croatian Military Academy “Petar Zrinski”. In addition, Lieutenant Junior Grade Alujević completed the course for antisubmarine warfare, as well as Basic PSO Course. He was currently a deputy commander of the DBM-81 “Cetina” ship in the Navy Flotilla.
This continues the active participation of the Navy members in this EU international military operation, which main aim is the protection of ships carrying food aid to Somalia within the World Food Programme (WFP), and the fight against piracy in the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters.
