Second CHODs Conference of Central Europe countries
Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić participates in the 2nd Conference of Chiefs of Staff of the armed forces of Central Europe countries, which is taking place on 7 and 8 November 2012 in Kraków, Republic of Poland.
Co-organizers of the Conference are the Commander of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), also the Commander of the Allied Command Operations (SHAPE), Admiral James Stavridis and Chief of General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces General Mieczyslaw Cieniuch. Along with representatives of the EUCOM, Poland and Croatia, the Conference is attended by the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia.
During the Conference issues related to the region, including regional efforts to strengthen stability and collective security, and participation in operations with a focus on capacity building and maintenance of joint capabilities have been discussed.
On the sidelines of the Conference, Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces met with Admiral James Stavridis. During the talks, General Lovrić thanked for the significant support that the United States provided to the Republic of Croatia. General Lovrić said that the Croatian Armed Forces would continue to participate in operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo in accordance with relevant decisions of the Croatian Parliament. He emphasized the successful and efficient regional cooperation and joint deployment in the ISAF operation.
Admiral Stavridis thanked for the significant contribution of Croatia to NATO operations and stressed an important role in stabilizing the region and the efforts that Croatia has been providing to initiatives for joint work of countries the region.
