Chief of General Staff visits 20th Croatian contingent in ISAF
Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić with his associates, has been visiting from 15 to 18 December 2012, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the 20th Croatian contingent in ISAF.
Upon arrival at the KAIA Airport in Kabul, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić met the Commander of the 20th HRVCON ISAF, Colonel Željko Dadić.
On the first day of his visit, the Chief of General Staff met the ISAF Deputy Commander, British Lieutenant General Nick Patrick Carter, and the discussion at a meeting was on the current situation in Afghanistan, the transition process and its implementation and the current capabilities of Afghan Security Forces and its future. They also talked about reducing the number of the Croatian soldiers in the ISAF operation in the future, and Gen. Carter concluded that the Croatian contribution was visible and quality, and that Croatia had an important role in the transition and support of peace and stability in Afghanistan. Lieutenant General Lovrić also met with members of the Croatian contingent that have been deployed on duty at the ISAF Command.
After meeting with General Carter, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić visited members of the Military Police Senior Advisory Team – MP SAT, which has been located at the “Julien Camp “. MP SAT Commander, Colonel Željko Ljubas, gave a brief presentation on the activities and achievements of the MP SAT, after which Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić spent time in an informal conversation and socializing with members of the team.
Chief of General Staff and his associates also visited the members located in the Croatian “Cobra Camp” within the “Warehouse Camp “, where the Command of 20th Croatian contingent has been situated.
