The first Croatian military air show – CROIMAS to be held in Zadar on Statehood Day – an the initiative of the Croatian Air Force is of manifold importance, says Minister Krstičević
The Barracks “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić” at Zemunik on 23 August 2019 hosted the presentation of the initiative and organisation of the 1st Ccroatian International Military Airshow – the CROIMAS to be held in Zadar on 30 May 2020. The Presentation followed the working meeting attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević, by the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces General Mirko Šundov, by the Commander of the Air Force Brigadier General Mato Mikić, by the Commander of the Support Command Major General Mladen Fuzul, by the Prefect of the Zadar County Božidar Longin, by the Mayor of Zadar Branko Dukić, by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Tonči Glavina and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The presentation – delivered by the Head of the Operations Section of the Command of the 93rd Air Base Lieutenant Colonel Damir Barišić – featured details related to the CROIMAS 2020 Air Show, to be organised jointly by the Croatian Air Force, the City of Zadar and the Zadar County.

In his keynote address Minister Krstičević praised the timing for the CROIMAS 2020 air show on Statehood Day – 30 May 2020.
“The Government of the Republic of Croatia has recognised and pledged full support to the initiative of an air show, proposed by the Croatian Air Force. CROIMAS 2020 is an event of high significance, and we therefore intend to organise it in a most formal and professional way. The events of the kind provide an added value to the period preceding the high tourist season which is of major importance for tourism. CROIMAS will be a direct promotion of Zadar and strengthen its place in the aviation and tourist map. Furthermore, it is an opportunity to further connect the Croatian Armed Forces with the local community, and to promote both the Croatian Air Force and military pilot profession. ts. Finally, the events of the kind entail economic benefit for the local community and to intensify the co-operation with the Allied and partner air forces, “concluded Minister Krstičević.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces General Mirko Šundov praised the excellent co-operation of the Croatian Armed Forces with the City of Zadar and the Zadar County. “The CROIMAS will be a challenge in terms of organisation, but knowing our capacities and capabilities it will certainly run well, with the special emphasis on security”, said General Šundov.
“The Prefect of the Zadar County Božidar Longin shared the confidence in a succesful air show organised by the Ministry of Defence, the Croatian Air Force, the City and the Zadar County with their experience and motivation”, said Prefect Longin.
The Mayor of Zadar Branko Dukić said: “The unity of Zadar and the Croatian Armed Forces is well evident. We are going to have a joyful and ceremonial marking of the Statehood Day 2020, and the airshow will bring a magnificient experience to the citizens and visitors of Zadar. The City of Zadar will provide support to the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Air Force. I believe the airshow should become a tradition, with an economic impact as well.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Tonči commended the presentation and expressed conviction in a successful airshow and said the Ministry of Touriosm and other related institutions would do their part in promoting the air show as a manifestation at national scale.
