Easter Wishes by the Defence Minister of the Republic of Croatia

On behalf of the Ministry of Defence and my personal behalf, I wish to extend my best Easter wishes!

The Resurrection of Christ teaches us that everything that we in our lives do well and with consciousness has a supreme cause. We are today fully aware of that, as were many of you in the hard times of the Homeland War, when belief in the justness of our cause inspired the courage and resoluteness. The valorous Croatian defenders who in that faith gave their lives will remain in our memory forever, and it is in festive time that we remember them and their sacrifice with special reverence

May the observance of the most important Christian festivity instill optimism, hope, strength and confidence in future, either celebrated within the family or on duty in places remote from their Homeland.

I wish this Easter be an inspiration to all of us to continue fulfilling our tasks with new zeal and to nurture professional and interpersonal relations. If we follow that inspiration, our Armed Forces will continue to remain the pride of the citizens of Croatia and of the free and democratic world alike.

Easter Wishes by the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Croatia

Dear soldiers, seamen,, NCOs, generals and admirals, members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia deployed to peace support operations, cadets, civilian employees, members of the Armed Forces and of the Ministry of Defence,

I am extending my warm wishes at the occasion of the most important Christian festivity – of the Resurrection of Christ!

In a time characterised by difficulties, I have to praise the humanity, compassion, resoluteness, optimism and true values of the Croatian soldiers, and it is the values that have to be nurtured and preserved. I am highly proud of the members of the Croatian Armed Forces serving at home and in missions worldwide, who have been recognized by the Allies as good soldiers and reliable partners to co-work with in missions, operations and Allied Commands respectively.

In anticipation of the Easter, we remember with special respect our fellow defenders who sacrificed their lives for peace, freedom of Croatia and its citizens.

This time, that brings hope and faith in the supremacy of the Good, is also the time of reflection on encouragements for the time ahead of us that we find in the Easter message.
In that spirit I wish to extend my wishes for a happy, serene and healthy Easter.
