Minister Banožić held a meeting with the Minister of Defence of Kosovo via video conference
Ministers strongly condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, agreeing that a stable and prosperous Ukraine is in the strategic interest of the entire European continent.
Defence Minister Mario Banožić held a meeting with the Defence Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Armend Mehaj via video conference on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
The two ministers reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Kosovo. They strongly condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, agreeing that a stable and prosperous Ukraine is in the strategic interest of the entire European continent.
“Today, the Republic of Croatia is a NATO member. But three decades ago it was a victim of aggression. Now it expresses its support and full solidarity with Ukraine. We stand firmly with Ukraine and support its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said Minister Banožić.
Mr. Banožić and Mr. Mehaj also discussed the security situation in Southeast Europe. Minister Mehaj expressed his appreciation for the excellence and professionalism of Croatian soldiers who, by participating in the NATO KFOR operation in Kosovo, have contributed to the preservation of peace and stability.
