MOD and Ministry of Interior signed Agreement on Cooperation

Minister of Defence and Minister of Interior (MOI), Branko Vukelic and Tomislav Karamarko signed on Friday, March 12, in the Defence Ministry, the Agreement on Cooperation between the two ministries.
The signing was also attended by Deputy Chief of General Staff for Operations Rear Admiral (UH) Zdenko Simicic, Secretary of Ministry Peter Barac, Chief of Minister’s Cabinet Daliborka Jurkovic, Deputy Chief Police Director Drazen Vitez and Chief of MOI Minister’s Cabinet Dubravko Novak.

The purpose of the Agreement is to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two ministries in the areas of business insurance and road traffic safety, counter-explosion protection, cooperation in the areas of crime police, special police, military police and Special Operations Battalion, and engaging members in peacekeeping operations and missions.
Also, the agreement covers the area of cooperation in the military training, information systems and systems of communication, cooperation in the duties of the Coast Guard, expert training and informing.
Implementation of cooperation will be based on the provisions of applicable laws, by-laws, professional rules and mutual agreements. For each area of cooperation, responsible persons will be assigned who will report on the implementation of the Agreement in both ministries.
