NATO Defence Ministers Meeting

Croatian Defence Minister, Ante Kotromanović is attending the NATO Defence ministers meeting in Brussels on 4th and 5th June 2013.

The main topics of the two-day meeting will include acquiring of new capability targets apportioned to the member countries within the Defence Planning Process and attaining the Level of Ambition(LOA), definition of the future role of NATO in cyber-defence and NATO’s role in Afghanistan in the post-2014 period.
A meeting with non-NATO ISAF participants also features in the agenda of the Meeting and is expected to produce the Concept of Operations of the new NATO mission in the post-2014 period.

NATO defence ministers will be joined by the Afghan minister Bismillah Khan Muhammadi, by the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton as well as by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan, Jan Kubiš.

The ministers will also meet in the NATO-Georgia Commission format, to be briefed on the plans of defence reforms in Georgia, and will be informed to a greater detail on the plans of future operation within the new NATO operation in Afghanistan titled “Resolute Support”.
